We were playing the dirtiest team in the state. And by dirty, I mean evil. Cheaters. Rule breakers. We were doing well, though. We were holding our own. It was the bottom of the second inning and the umpire called a time out. He took the bat away from the batter. We were all shuffling in the field wondering what was happening. An altered bat! They were using altered bats! Their entire team was disqualified. Easy win, and we didn’t have to work for it.
