To me, baseball is a very emotional part of my life. See, my mom worked hard to keep our heads out of the water. Times were always tough, but when we were at the ballpark, all of our worries were behind us. My mom would actually smile and get a chance to socialize. When I would play, she would smile even bigger. It seemed like the only time I would see her happy. Therefore, each time I was about to hit the field, I whispered a little mantra to myself, “this one’s for you, mom.”
