The skill of a catcher is a skill like no other. The mask has to fit just so, and not cause too much perspiration. The apron has to be somewhat flexible and cover the important spots, if you know what I mean. And the mitt, oh, the mitt. But one thing that can’t be slacked on are the pants. The pants I wear are flexible and comfortable for long periods of squatting. The allow air in, so that you can breathe, as it gets hot under all that equipment. And best of all, they don’t bunch up hen you have to jump up to go after a ball.
