Everyone was hiding behind sunglasses to shield the glare of the blazing sun. Nora Meeks’ mother forced her to wear some hideous hot pink sunscreen on her nose. Coach Sanders had those clip on sunglasses over his glasses, which made it hard not to giggle, when he flipped them up to give you direction. What made it worse, half way through the game, he asked Nora’s mother for some of the sunscreen for his chrome dome. But there’s one thing that the sun didn’t interfere with and that was our jerseys. They kept the sun shielded from our bodies, yet keeping us cool at the same time.
