Sometimes, I like to get to the ballpark early and watch the whole place set up. Just to observe, you could say. Have you ever seen them flip on the lights and light up the entire field? Or when they comb the field and then chalk it? It’s the birth of a softball field right in front of your very eyes. Then the scorekeeper arrives and the scoreboard comes on, set to 00. You will soon hear shuffling the concession area. This is a great time to go over and say Hi. You end up with a freebie. The lone “your team” rides again.
