We had just finished the best Christmas dinner ever. Aunt Melissa’s potato salad and Grandma’s mouth watering ham. The men decided we should go outside and throw around the football to help digest some of that meal. I said I’d be right there. I ran up to my old room, still in the same shape I left it. I looked in the closet, not there. I went through the chest of drawers and came across some army men and two silver dollars, but not what I’m looking for. I noticed a duffel bag out of the corner of my eye. It pulled me near. I unzipped it, and there they were. My old football pants from the ‘your team’ season. Aaaaaaaah. Putting them on brought back memories and pure comfort. I ran back down the stairs ready to join the guys outside. I grabbed another piece of pie along the way. My pants will stretch.
