It was that day in the locker room that changed my life forever. It was the game against Lancaster and we were at half time. Some of us were dragging, just not feeling motivated after such a bad first two quarters. People weren’t talking much. Suddenly Coach comes in. He starts calling names and telling us to hold our heads up high, we are ‘your team’ and that ‘your team’ don’t drag their chins. Then he started saying something about ‘be like bamboo and bend with the wind rather than break’. Something clicked in my head. I regained my energy. And from that day forward, I bend where ever life takes me. I’m not sure if Coach knows what he was talking about that day, but I sure do.
